Overview
Costa Custom Pools is a Houston-based residential pool design and construction company specializing in custom pools, outdoor living environments, and high-end backyard transformations. Their services span new pool builds, renovations, spas, and integrated outdoor spaces designed to turn residential properties into lifestyle-focused retreats.
The company came to Desque with an identity and digital presence that no longer matched the quality of their work. They were operating in a competitive, higher-end residential market with branding that read as a generic contractor and a website that did little to differentiate them during the early stages of customer consideration.
Challenges
The original branding relied on dated contractor-industry aesthetics and lacked the structure, consistency, or scalability needed to support a premium market position. The logo suffered from weak typography hierarchy, limited versatility, and poor adaptability across physical and digital applications. Beyond the logo, the company had no unified visual system capable of supporting vehicle wraps, uniforms, signage, print materials, or digital marketing in a consistent way.
The website compounded the problem. Like many contractor sites in the industry, it lacked clear hierarchy, visual cohesion, and a structured user flow. It offered no meaningful differentiation and did not build the kind of trust a high-value residential investment requires.
Balancing the brand’s positioning was a central challenge throughout. Costa Custom Pools needed to feel aspirational and premium without becoming disconnected from the credibility and operational realities of the construction industry.
Objectives
The engagement was focused on modernizing the company’s visual and digital presence to reflect the quality of their work and support long-term business growth. Key goals included:
- Modernize the visual identity and improve professionalism across all touchpoints
- Build a scalable brand system capable of supporting vehicles, uniforms, signage, and digital applications
- Develop a premium website experience that builds trust and drives residential inquiries
- Improve navigation clarity and mobile usability
- Establish a foundation for future marketing, merchandise, and customer experience initiatives
Solutions
Brand identity redesign
We redesigned the identity from the ground up around movement, water flow, and outdoor lifestyle aesthetics. The new mark combines stylized wave forms, circular framing, and simplified environmental symbolism with a modernized typography system. The goal was a mark that reads confidently at embroidery scale, holds up on a vehicle wrap, and translates cleanly across screen and print applications.
At Desque we approached brand design for the construction industry differently than we would for a retail or restaurant brand. The identity needed to feel premium and aspirational while retaining the construction credibility that earns a homeowner’s trust during a high-stakes purchase.
The logo system
We delivered a full logo system with multiple lockup configurations across primary, single-color dark, and reverse colorways so the brand holds up whether it appears on a polo, a truck, a printed piece, or a dark-background digital surface.

The visual system
A complete visual language was built around the identity to create consistency across future applications. The color palette combines deep aquatic blues with warm orange accents, creating a balance between trust, professionalism, and lifestyle-oriented energy. Typography was structured with a bold, highly legible primary wordmark and a refined secondary treatment that balances premium residential appeal with operational practicality.
Brand applications
The identity was extended into the operational touchpoints the business uses every day, from vehicle graphics to apparel to poolside branded experiences. Each application was designed to keep the mark recognizable and polished whether it appears in a residential neighborhood or at a completed project site.
Vehicle wrap designed for maximum recognition in residential neighborhoods.
The website
The website redesign became the operational centerpiece of the entire Costa Custom Pools brand system. The objective went beyond building a modern-looking site. We designed the digital experience to reposition the company visually, reinforce trust, and align the business with premium residential markets in a way that web design for contractors rarely achieves.
The previous site lacked hierarchy, modern presentation, and any clear path from discovery to consultation. We replaced it with a spacious layout, large-format project imagery, refined typography, and a controlled content hierarchy that creates a calmer and more aspirational browsing experience. The design intentionally avoided cluttered layouts, excessive text density, and the aggressive sales-heavy presentation common to contractor sites.

The modular structure also created a stronger long-term foundation for future digital marketing and content expansion.
Assessment
This project demonstrated how important presentation consistency across multiple touchpoints is for repositioning a contractor brand. The strongest outcome was not any single deliverable but the cohesion between the visual identity, website experience, and operational branding system, which together elevated customer perception beyond what any individual asset could have achieved on its own.
